Diagnostics and Replacement of the Control Board
The control board ensures the operation of all boiler systems, and any malfunctions will be accompanied by an indication of the corresponding error on the control panel.
-
Problem Identification
- If your boiler is operating incorrectly, first check the control panel for an error message.
- No error is displayed, but the boiler is operating incorrectly.
- No manual control of the boiler or control via smartphone.
- Power or commands are not supplied to the equipment (circulation pump, three-way valve, heating elements).
- Commands to turn on the equipment are issued without your involvement.
- The display shows errors that are not in the operating manual.
-
Safety Measures
- Before starting any maintenance work, make sure the boiler’s power supply is turned off to avoid electric shock.
- To remove the front panel of the boiler, you need to disconnect the control display and grounding cable attached to the front panel.
- Be careful not to damage the cables.
-
Checking Connections and Components
- Check the integrity of the control panel cables and control board connections. They should not show signs of burning.
- Check the condition of the contacts and connectors on the control board, as well as the power relays and equipment control relays. They should not show signs of burning.
- Check the condition of the high-temperature thermal fuse located on the front panel of the boiler heating element. Make sure the high-temperature thermal fuse is in the “on” position.
- Check the fuse located on the control board under a silicone cap.
If any of the above signs are found, the control board needs to be replaced.
-
Replacing the Control Board
If the above checks do not solve the problem, the control board can be replaced as follows:
- Take a photo or mark all cables and connectors connected to the board in a way that is convenient for you. This will help you correctly connect all cables and connectors to the new control board in the future.
- Disconnect all cables from the control board.
- Remove the faulty board. 4. Install the new board.
- Connect all the wires and reassemble everything in reverse order.
